How to get started again...

I have to say that Sufferfest is a lot of fun, but I like to know what I'm doing and Graeme's Cyclo-SPIN 9 is a kicker. This year has been a tough one to start. Last year I had a lot of stuff that happened (broken collar bone for one in my best year yet).

Any how, I did Graeme's SPIN 9, and boy I can feel it still cooking away at my body which prompted me to write this blog. I've let my metabolism go into a lull and boy it feels great to have it firing up. If you've never looked at his stuff he has a bit of a different approach than may others... Though it seems that a few are starting to issue out "new" ideas that seem to be what I've been doing with Cyclo-CORE/CLUB since 2004.

Now to get this stupid Polar software to work!

New Years Day Ride

Snow, Rail Trail, and Friends... Can't ask for a better way to start the YEAR! We had two rides this year... Three of us headed out at 10:00 a.m. as we had stuff to do during the day. The rest headed out at Noon. We were back by noon and had coffee with the guys before they headed out. This is a running tradition for me since I moved to Southern Ontario in 1995!

Today, was sunny but very cold and I began my off-season training, by busting my gut on Cyclo-CORE & Cyclo-ZEN (UGH!) I then went on the trainer and did a technique based trainer ride with the MP3 Plugged into my ears... dreaming of winning the Westover Race and getting through the Mudshoot at the P2A.

The Sufferfest had a challenge to ride the two new training rides back to back.... but that was going to just kill me and it's still very early in the season so reason won over the challenge today!
